  • Taiwan Proposes Mandatory Inspection with Standard CNS 15290 for Babies’ Garments and Clothing Accessories Print Page Tell Friend

    On June 8, 2010, the Bureau of Standards, Metrology & Inspection (BSMI) announced in the Taiwan Executive Yuan Gazette the beginning of a period of 60 days for public comment on the draft Regulations for Babies’ Garments and Clothing Accessories Commodities Subject to Mandatory Inspection. The proposed regulation would call for mandatory compliance of specific babies’ garments and clothing accessories with requirements specified in the CNS 15290 Safety of Textiles (General Requirements) and would come into force on January 1, 2011. Below is a summary of all requirements under Standard CNS 15290.


    Textile Products Covered

    • Baby textile products (proposed subject to mandatory inspection)
    • Textile products in direct contact with skin

    • Indoor decorative textile materials

    • Textile products without direct skin contact
